Major Prisoner Swap: Russia Secures Release of 115 Troops with Help from UAE

Kyiv: The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Saturday the successful release of 115 Russian military personnel who had been captured in areas controlled by Ukraine. This exchange was made possible through mediation by the United Arab Emirates and involved a reciprocal return of 115 Ukrainian troops.

According to the ministry, the Russian soldiers were initially taken prisoner in the Kursk region. They are currently in Belarus, where they are receiving medical care and preparing for their return to Russia. The ministry emphasized the role of UAE mediators in facilitating this significant exchange of prisoners.
